Bereavement Ministry
Our Bereavement ministry provides a parish connection with bereaved families during their time of loss through emotional support, prayer, comfort and remembrance.
In addition to adult servers who assist at funeral Masses, and commissioned ministers who, at times, assist with committal services at the cemetery, a deli tray is delivered to the funeral home on the day of the wake to provide nourishment to the family as they grieve.
Our Bereaved families also receive a follow-up call 6-8 weeks after the funeral and a first anniversary card informing them that their loved one is remembered and prayed for as a candle is lit in our chapel.
On the Feast of All Souls a Mass of Remembrance is celebrated while our bereavement ministers assist with “Coffee and...” as they continue to support the bereaved.

Our Mission ~ The St. Francis of Assisi community is a welcoming Christian family. We believe in Jesus Christ, and are guided by the Holy Spirit and the example of St. Francis. We gather to celebrate, to grow in the knowledge of our faith rooted in the Catholic tradition, and to recognize our responsibility to reach out to the world.
