Becoming Catholic
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
The RCIA is an opportunity to enter the Catholic faith for those who have not been baptized or baptized in another Christian tradition. It is also for those who have been baptized Catholic but have not received Eucharist or Confirmation.
Our journey begins in the month of September. We meet weekly for an hour and a half on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm to begin to reflect on how God is calling us and what it means to have faith in Jesus. There is plenty of time to ask questions and discern if this is the right step for you.
As the journey continues toward the Easter Vigil, we learn about Jesus, the sacraments, Mary the Mother of God, why we honor the saints, the commandments and more of what the Church teaches in providing for our spiritual needs. If you are interested in being part of this journey of faith, please email Deacon John or call him at 708-460-0042.
“You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.” - St. Augustine

Our Mission ~ The St. Francis of Assisi community is a welcoming Christian family. We believe in Jesus Christ, and are guided by the Holy Spirit and the example of St. Francis. We gather to celebrate, to grow in the knowledge of our faith rooted in the Catholic tradition, and to recognize our responsibility to reach out to the world.
