Saint Francis of Assisi Music Ministry
Music for the Masses
Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Music Ministry is blessed with many talented and dedicated musicians who give their service to the Lord and our parish family at weekend liturgies.
More than 150 individuals, adults and children alike comprise our corp of cantors, adult choir members, children’s and youth choir, musicians, handbell choir, etc. Cantors rehearse bi-monthly as a group, and individually as necessary. Children’s and Adult Choirs rehearse weekly from Sept. - May, with a short hiatus in January.
Our parish music tastes vary, and as such, our choir members can tell you that they love to sing Durufle’s Ubi Caritas as much as Rutter, Taize, Joncas, or a rousing spiritual.
If you are interested in joining your voice with ours, we welcome you. Prospective members need not endure a rigorous audition, but must meet with the Music Director in advance. Due to the cost of materials and preparation, we ask for a yearly commitment from choir members. Choir members must be open to all styles of music, and must read and agree to the Rehearsal Expectations and Commitment Letter. A pleasant singing voice, basic music reading skills, and an ability to blend are necessary. Cantors must audition and complete training.

Our Mission ~ The St. Francis of Assisi community is a welcoming Christian family. We believe in Jesus Christ, and are guided by the Holy Spirit and the example of St. Francis. We gather to celebrate, to grow in the knowledge of our faith rooted in the Catholic tradition, and to recognize our responsibility to reach out to the world.
